What is wrong with timeshares?

The timeshare industry has been around for many years.  I have been an owner since 1978 and a member of RCI since then.  I discovered along the way certain rules to live by to make the  most out of my timeshares.  First is never pay retail....never buy from the developer....watch maintenance fees closely, they can break you....location of your home resort matters, but not as much as the developer would have you believe....stick to your guns as to what you are to receive as a 'gift' for attending a "90 minute presentation" and make sure they don't keep you longer than 90 minutes!....look for flexibility....It is nice to be able to keep it forever but remember you will not want to own it forever as people's tastes and situations change.....and ....never buy a timeshare as a moneymaking investment, it can save you money but rarely will it  'make' you money!
The timeshares we are offering are rather unique.  We are not offering deeded ownership and locking you into paying us maintenance forever.  We are not even charging for maintenance!   We are offering the ultimate in flexibility and affordability.  For a set sum of money you will be purchasing a block of 5 weeks, good to use as you wish for the next 5 years!   This means the following:

  • You may use all or any of your weeks at any time in the next 5 years.
  • You may trade all or any of your weeks at any time in the next 5 years.
  • You may add additional days to your week for a few dollars more.
  • You may use your weeks back to back.
  • You may take friends along and use more than 1 unit (example: you give up 2 of your 5 weeks and get 2 units )during the same week.
  • If you own a 2 bedroom unit, you can split it in 2 timeshare weeks in the smaller unit or exchange for 2 smaller units.
  • Your weeks can be traded through Trading Places, Inc. for anywhere in the world.
  • There is no membership fee imposed by trading Places.  You pay only an exchange fee if you actually use them to trade/exchange your vacation week.
  • Since you pay no maintenance, your per week cost is very low compared to so called deeded ownership resorts.
  • Your home resort is a unique place with high demand and you can expect good trades when you decide to trade through Trading Places.
  • We plan to sell out only 60% of our inventory so that owners will have a better opportunity of getting their choice of timeshare week.  The other 30% will be rented on an "as available" basis, either for retail to the General Public or at a discount to our members.
  • Due to our unique small size we will try to accomodate your meal preferences during your stay.
  • You can rent additional weeks for 25% off of regular rates during membership.
  • You can upgrade your week or weeks at a reasonable rate.
